Euromed Feminist Initiative participated in an event hosted by the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis entitled “Europe’s response to the Syrian refugee crisis: delivering effective aid in partnership with the region” on June 19, 2018 in Brussels. The event featured panel discussions, an interactive market place, a multimedia exhibition, and concluded with a multi-cultural evening by talented musicians & renowned artists. During the event, participants shared powerful stories of resilience and determination in the face of one of the biggest humanitarian crises of modern history. Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanian, Iraqi and Turkish panellists debated with EU institutional counterparts and international community representatives on how to best deliver aid that is effective, inclusive and tailored to the needs of Syrian refuges and local communities. A dedicated market place enabled visitors to meet activists, students, young entrepreneurs, doctors and local civil society organisations, side by side with the Trust Fund's partners operating on the ground. A cultural night featured live musical performances by Syrian, Iraqi, Palestinian and Belgian musicians & artists.
