The EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI), and with the support of SIDA, held a gender sensitivity training in Erbil from 12-16 October, 2021, whereby 8 selected civil society activists and leaders were provided with media and comms skills pertinent to raising gender awareness. The goal of this training is to help partners increase visibility of the plight of women and girls affected by the Syria crisis in a manner that does not compromise human dignity; does not take away their voice; and works in line with internationally recognized humanitarian standards.
Under the “Supporting political transition in Syria through gender-sensitive social reconstruction” program, funded by the Swedish International Development and Cooperation agency (SIDA), EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) held a training for 23 selected Syrian Civil Society activists in Turkey, from the 24th until the 27th of September, 2021.
EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is implementing the program “Supporting political transition in Syria through gender-sensitive social reconstruction”, funded by the Swedish International Development and Cooperation agency (SIDA). This program aims at contributing to inclusive gender-sensitive peace-building and social reconstruction process in Syria by promoting women’s rights, combatting violence against women and girls (VAWG) and gender discrimination and ensuring women’s role and meaningful participation at all levels of political, social and economic reconstruction in Syria.
