Joint Lobby trip during the Committee on the Status of Women Forum

The lobby trip took place in the aftermath of the side event related to the Committee on the Status of Women (CSW67) Forum that EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) held on the 8th of March in New York. 

 

The objective was for the Syrian women’s rights defenders to meet  international  stakeholders and present their analysis  linked to the  situation of women´s rights in Syria in the current challenging context.

 

Between March 9 and March 10, the delegation met with Permanent Missions of Canada, The Netherlands and Denmark to the United Nations (UN); with both members of the Danish Parliament; as well as with UN Women; the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR); and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

 

The lobby trip took part in the frame of  the program “Supporting political transition in Syria through gender-sensitive social reconstruction” funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
