The public conference “Women as actors of change in the Mediterranean region” took place on 3rd of May 2024, 18:30-20:00, at Arab World Institute in Paris.Organised within the framework of the first Mediterranean Feminist Forum by the EuroMed Feminist Initiative, in partnership with the interministerial Delegation for the Mediterranean from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and with the contribution of the Arab World Institute, the conference brought together four high-level personalities, women in the fields of culture, politics, economics, sport and justice. 

Rima ABDUL-MALAK - Former Minister of Culture, Neila BENZINA - Businesswoman, Co-founder of Wimbee Tech and Campusna, Rima AYADI - French boxer and European champion, Nehad ABUL KOMSAN - President of the Egyptian Center for Women's Rights (ECWR) shared insights on power and change from their diverse experiences, affirming that achieving gender equality for sustainable and equitable societies implies recognising the value of women´s equal participation in decision making, as CEOs, entrepreneurs, natural resource managers, champions and community leaders.

Lastly, they stated the undeniable role played by women in the Mediterranean basin, faced by many political, economic and social challenges, in the implementation of a peaceful and sustainable development of the region.
