Scoring Workshop on the 2024 Regional Index on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) – Baghdad, Iraq

Under the patronage of the Department of Women’s Affairs at the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq, the scoring workshop of the 2024 Regional Index on Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) for the Republic of Iraq was held on 4th May 2025 in Baghdad. The event took place as part of the project “Combating VAWG in Iraq – Enhancing Cross-Sector Cooperation,” under the broader framework of the “Strengthening Participation, Peaceful Coexistence, and Equality in Iraq (SPACE)” programme, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The workshop brought together experts and practitioners from ministries, governmental institutions, and civil society organisations (CSOs), who discussed and assigned scores to the sub-indicators of the Index.
