Azza Kamel
Azza Kamel is a Writer and feminist who holds a PhD in Philosophy in Education and founded the Appropriate Communication Techniques for Development – ACT. She has set up various non-governmental organizations and networks about women's issues to enhance the principles of equality among women and men. She is the national partner of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom in the national consultation on ending discrimination and the promotion of peace and security on Women in the Middle East. She is a Press writer in El Shourouq and Almassry Elyoum newspapers. She is a Writer of short stories on women's rights and various literary writings. Her collection of short stories addresses women's issues and the relationship between men and women. Ms.Kamel founded the Aswan International Woman Film Festival. In a context of gender-based violence and women trafficking, a big part of her work focuses on combatting such practices that violate women's rights and stand as obstacles to achieve gender equality.
