UNSCR 1325 - The Mandate on Women, Peace and Security

Sexual and gender-based violence are still war tactics used to dehumanize Women and inflict psychological pain in war torn and post-war zones. The UN Security Council adopted resolution (S/RES/1325) on Women, Peace and Security on 31 October 2000, a crucial point in history focusing on the importance of Women's participation in conflict prevention, peacebuilding efforts, protection, relief and recovery for all Women.
