Layla Naffa
Layla Nafa is Holder of BA in English Literature and a Diploma in Training Teachers. She is the Director of Programmes at the Arab Women Organization of Jordan (AWO), a national NGO advocating for legal and political reforms that catalyze positive change toward gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls (From 2000 till now). She was a Teachers’ Instructor at UNRWA Teachers Training Institute, in Amman from 1971 to 1997. She participated in establishing “Mosawa Network”, a local network for grassroots women-led Jordanian Community–Based Organizations for improving women’s livelihood. She issued “Shadow Reports” to the the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CDWA) and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR ) process and she networks for building partnerships with local, Arab, Euro-Med and International Networks, namely: “Himam”/ a local Human Rights Network; "Karama"/an Arab Feminist Network, EuroMed Feminist Initiative, and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
