Marie Therese El Mir is a civil society activist in the field of women's rights, democracy, leadership and human rights since 1993. She has an extensive experience in development and women's rights advocacy. She is the President of the Lebanese Democratic Women’s Gathering (RDFL) that is a feminist, non-governmental, secular organization advocating and fighting for women’s rights since September 2022. She is a Board’s member of EuroMed Feminist Initiative and treasurer since 2013. She is also a Board member of Maryam and Martha Association: shelter for isolated and abandoned women to protect abused women and single women since 2000. Ms. Marie Therese is also a member of the Lebanese Business and Professional Women Club, holding the position of Secretary of Financial Affairs since 2012 (BPW LEBANON) and a member of the National Pastoral Committee for Women in the Secular Apostolic Council since 2010.
