Moufida Abassi
Moufida Abassi is a Doctor in Social Psychology, Research Teacher, appointed Head of the Department of Social Studies at the National Institute of Labour and Social Studies, INTES, University of Carthage Tunisia (2020-2023). She is in charge, at the Ministry of Women, Family and Childhood, of the coordination, realisation and follow-up of projects and national strategies to fight violence against women and children, supported by national and UN bodies. She is focused on research and training on social vulnerability issues: gender and social problems, women victims of violence and social integration, children and violence, juvenile justice, child protection, social integration of vulnerable groups. She had conducted the Gender Review of the UNICEF office in Tunisia as a national consultant in 2013-2014 and is the Coordinator of the cooperation project between the National Institute of Labour and Social Studies and UNICEF on juvenile justice. She is also the Member of the technical committee of the Support Project for the Reform of Justice PARJ: "Support Project for the Improvement of Justice for Children in Tunisia" launched with the support of UNICEF. She implemented, in 2020, a mapping of child protection structures in Tunisia for the office of the General Delegate for Child Protection and developed a tool for assessing psychological harm among women and girls who are victims of sexual violence for UNFPA in November 2021. Ms Abassi is active in civil society, and President of the Executive Board of the Tunisian Women's Association for Development Research.
